New Arrivals

I got a big box of dollies on Monday, it was from Soom. I had ordered a Borol and a Luxullia. I also ordered spare bodies for them so that there could be two complete dolls from each and be matching. I am glad I did, the Borol is a creamy yellow white, like my Aphan, and the Luxullia is a paper white.

I had hoped that the Borol would be a good friend for my Aphan since I was having trouble finding the motivation to play with him since he didn't have anybody to pal around with. So far I am uncertain if it will work out or not. If it doesn't, I will probably rehome both the Borols and the Aphan. I still have to sand seams, glue suede and restring, then I'll do faceup and blushing if I feel there is hope for keeping them.

The Luxullia I had planned on being a little Demon girl, I hadn't planned on keeping the hooves or the open eyed head, but I have to admit that they are kind of cute. The wings are kind of neat, though I'm terrified of gluing them in, so they are just sitting in there for now. I will have to do seam sanding on them as well, then restring and suede and do aesthetics.

On another note, I am in the process of trying to re-home my SDF Annette, but if it doesn't happen next month I may be sending her to a friend to put a new face on her in hopes to try and get some more personality out of her.

That is all for now, happy holidays everyone!

Hello!

It's been a long time since I have tried blogging, and this is the first I will be blogging about a hobby ^_^

There have been many hobbies in my life, but the BJD hobby has been the one to stick the longest, I really enjoy this hobby for many reasons; meeting people, creativity, cuteness, imagination, fun, etc. If it weren't for this hobby I don't think I'd have more than two friends. Thanks to this hobby I was even able to meet people when I moved across the country to a place I'd never been.

I got my first doll in 2007, it was a Minifee Shiwoo Elf (Happy Hours Version) from when Luts was still carrying them, I ordered with a friend who got a full choice so I could get a girl body for the head I wanted. When I started I thought I would only ever own girls, and only MSD sized dolls... but to my suprise I have had a number of different sizes and a good many of them were males!

A number of my friends in the hobby have stories and characters for their dolls and rarely ever sell the ones they get, where as I seem to be a lot more fickle with mine. I buy because I like the sculpt, but then I don't always bond with them so they go to new homes and I look for something else. Though in the last year or so I have started to think about potential stories or themes for some dolls I've been eying, and maybe even trying to make stories for ones I already have to see if it'd help me hold on to my dolls longer. Luckily my friends in this hobby have been very understanding and non judgmental about the way I collect, I am very grateful to them all!

This hobby has been great for me to not only meet people and make friends, but also to have a creative outlet. I absolutely love doing Aesthetic work on dolls and have even taken some commissions in the last year, which I'm hoping to be able to do many more in the future!

... ok, my brain stopped working, so I'll have to apologize for the sort of blunt ending here. Thanks for stopping by!
